Gordon “Sandy” Sanford performs government relations services and advises clients on regulatory and business litigation matters in Mississippi. He provides legislative analysis, creates and executes legislative plans, advocates for the passage of legislation and helps clients navigate the public procurement process. Sandy has deep experience advising public utilities on regulatory matters, and he advises companies in multiple industries on economic development issues including tax and other incentives.
He also represents clients in commercial litigation in state and federal courts. Sandy has taken cases to trial through verdict in state court and handled appeals, including appeals to the Supreme Court of Mississippi.
Sandy is a member of the Charles Clark Inns of Court, and was a member of the 2017 Leadership Mississippi Class. Sandy is a member of the University of Mississippi Hall of Fame, and served as a member of the Young Alumni Council and as a board member of the Alumni Association for the University of Mississippi central district.
Sandy is an adjunct professor at Mississippi College School of Law, where he has taught the courses of Sales and Leasing and Remedies. He is still involved as an alumnus of the law school and served on the school’s building campaign committee.
Sandy is the past president of the Mississippi Corporate Counsel Association, a member of Young Business Leaders, and has served as a member of several committees within the Mississippi Bar Association, including the long range planning committee, young lawyers division, chairman of the law school relations committee, and nominating committee. He served as southeastern editor of the Defense Research Institute’s The Business Suit.
