Grant J. Guillot advises business entities and other organizations across various industries on a broad range of legal issues, including compliance with federal and state laws, contractual issues, corporate governance, entity formation, employment concerns, government actions, legislative matters, open meetings issues, public records disputes, and issues pertaining to liability of directors and officers.

In addition to representing businesses operating in long-established industries, Grant also works with charter schools and drone/unmanned aerial vehicle companies who seek assistance navigating the regulatory and legislative landscapes of these newer industries. Grant also frequently represents telecommunications service providers, Internet service providers, cable television companies, water and wastewater companies, and other public utilities in matters pending before the Louisiana Public Service Commission.

In addition, Grant defends aggrieved business entities and individuals against adverse actions taken by various government entities, including the Louisiana Board of Ethics and the Louisiana Department of Insurance. He also represents organizations and candidates for political office in governmental ethics disputes and campaign finance matters.

Grant litigates disputes arising from these matters at all stages, from the filing of or initial response to the lawsuit through the final disposition of the matter by the highest appellate tribunal. He regularly represents clients before various governmental entities, including regulatory agencies, district courts, and appellate tribunals such as the Louisiana Court of Appeal for the First Circuit and the Louisiana Supreme Court.

Grant earned his J.D. and Graduate Diploma of Civil Law magna cum laude from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where he was selected to join the Louisiana Law Review and inducted into the Order of the Coif for graduating in the top 10 percent of his class. He earned his B.A. in Mass Communications with a Minor in Business Administration summa cum laude from Louisiana State University, graduating first in his college class and participating in the Honors College program.

Grant has presented seminars on various legal issues including the legal implications of the utilization of social media and other forms of electronic communications, employment discrimination issues and other labor and employment matters, open meetings and public records laws, professionalism in the practice of law, and law practice management.
