In an industry that is rapidly evolving, there is a need for a more dynamic firm. Greg Chase has spent the last five years in New York building just that. Leveraging a deep knowledge of the market, Greg has been a driver for the firm’s development of the most complete, full-spectrum maritime practice in the world.
Greg leads an agile, entrepreneurial team in the New York office that handles the more complex and sophisticated transactions the sector now demands. Greg and the team advise clients on a broad range of finance and private equity matters.
This includes advising major lenders, operating companies, and equity investors on all aspects of the financing of ships, offshore assets, and other related capital equipment, including syndicated and bilateral pre- and post-delivery debt finance, ECA-backed loan facilities, sale and leaseback transactions, structured financings, residual value guarantees, and related collateral arrangements.
They also advise on a range of corporate matters and transactions, including private equity transactions, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructurings in the shipping industry.
In addition, Greg and the team represent clients in connection with international commercial shipping transactions, including construction contracts and multi-vessel construction programs, complex vessel charter arrangements, and the sale and purchase of marine assets.
The team combines its practice with the broader capabilities of Reed Smith’s large New York office and the full resources of a global firm with offices in shipping centers around the world. Greg has acted for lenders in some of the larger ship finance transactions in the market.
