Heather E. Murray is an associate in the Commercial Litigation Practice Group of Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s New York office. She advises and defends corporations, officers and directors, and individuals in connection with securities and commercial litigation, government investigations, and mediation and arbitration proceedings. She also provides counseling on governance matters to boards and senior executives.
Before joining Seyfarth Shaw, Ms. Murray was a litigation associate in the New York office of an international law firm, where she gained substantive securities, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisition litigation experience and as a pro bono volunteer helped develop and launch the Women’s Leadership Initiative’s Housing Clinic.
For her pro bono effort, she was awarded the Legal Aid Society’s 2014 Award for Innovative Pro Bono Assistance. Ms. Murray has been recognized for her legal writing as a 2018 recipient of a Burton Award for Distinguished Legal Writing. Prior to law school, Ms. Murray covered two communities for a newspaper in Westchester.
Ms. Murray is a member of the Board of Directors of Forestdale, a child welfare agency that is helping to eliminate poverty through foster care, adoption and wrap-around services provided to Queens families in crisis.
