Heather Ripley is a senior associate in the firm’s Federal & International Tax Group. Her practice focuses on federal and international tax services for a range of clients, including domestic and international business entities and individuals.
She has advised clients on income tax treaty application, FATCA, FIRPTA and other tax issues for inbound investment into the United States, the anti-deferral regimes for outbound investment and tax-efficient transactions and structures.
Additionally, Ms. Ripley has experience in federal tax controversy work and has navigated a number of clients through the IRS’s ongoing Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program and corresponding state disclosure programs.
Ms. Ripley has also counseled a number of charitable and nonprofit organizations on incorporation, applications for federal and state tax exemptions, annual filing requirements and other tax issues, as well as providing volunteer income tax assistance for low-income individuals.
Ms. Ripley works closely with the alumni networks of Harvard Law School and the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. While at Harvard, she served on the Board of Student Advisers.
