Heidi E. Opinsky

With over 30 years of legal experience, attorney Heidi E. Opinsky has established a reputation as an artful negotiator and zealous courtroom advocate. During that time, she has skill and knowledge in the area of divorce law ― particularly divorces involving moderate to high net worth couples. When potentially millions of dollars are at stake, you need an attorney who understands the complexities of high-asset divorce, not one who simply dabbles in family law.

Ms. Opinsky is one of only a few divorce attorneys who practice in both New York and Connecticut. Because of this, she can single-handedly deal with cross-jurisdictional issues involving both states’ laws. She also has a close working relationship with professionals such as forensic accountants, tax experts and estate planners, which is essential given the need for such experts in high-asset divorces.

Prior to starting her own firm, Ms. Opinsky was a partner in multiple family law practices. She is a Connecticut certified guardian ad litem/attorney for minor child and served in New York as a guardian ad litem and special attorney appointed by a jurist in the Supreme Court. Additionally, Ms. Opinsky previously worked for Connecticut Gov. William O’Neill and in Washington for Rep. William R. Cotter, D-Conn.
