Hilary G. Atzrott is an associate in Venable’s Real Estate Practice in the New York office. Prior to joining Venable, Hilary was a land use and zoning attorney at a midsize New York law firm, where she guided clients through the maze of New York City land use agencies and procedures to obtain discretionary and as-of-right land use approvals.
Hilary regularly appeared in front of the New York City Board of Standards and Appeals to obtain variances and special permits, the Department of City Planning for FRESH approvals, and Landmarks Preservation Commission for Certificates of Appropriateness.
During her tenure, she also drafted agreements to facilitate the transfer of development rights in Brooklyn and Queens, conducted due diligence for residential, commercial, and land purchases, and advised outdoor advertising companies on New York City’s various sign and advertising regulations.
Before this, Hilary served as a real estate and land use attorney at a boutique New York law firm, where she represented clients in complex land use and real estate matters, including lobbying for rezonings in Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx, as well as drafting papers and arguing in an Article 78 proceeding against the New York City Department of Buildings.
