Hilary d’Lacy Fey is a member of the firm’s real estate practice. Ms. Fey focuses her practice on real estate and regulatory compliance. Ms. Fey regularly represents equity funds, mortgage and mezzanine lenders, real estate investment trusts, and private investors in a variety of real estate matters including the acquisition, development, construction and financing of retail centers, hospitality, mixed-use and multi-family residential projects. She also advises clients on a range of regulatory matters, with a particular emphasis on compliance audits of multinational corporations for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
She received her J.D. in 2000 from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) where she served as an articles editor for the Berkeley Technology Law Journal and was awarded the Legal Writing Award for Excellence. In 1997, she received her B.A. summa cum laude with high honors from Vanderbilt University where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Ms. Fey was a Vanderbilt Scholar and was awarded the Dewy W. Grantham Prize for outstanding honors thesis in history.Prior to joining Akin Gump, Ms. Fey worked as a transactional real estate and corporate attorney.
