
Ian D. Wagreich is a Partner of Hughes Socol Piers Resnick & Dym. Mr. Wagreich has been focusing on business-related immigration law for nearly twenty years and has become nationally recognized as a leading voice in that area.
His practice encompasses a wide breadth of business-related immigration topics, including nonimmigrant working visas, employment based permanent residence, labor certification, investment related immigration, and employer sanctions and he speaks frequently on these and other immigration-related topics.
Mr. Wagreich has effectively assisted a wide variety of clients in meeting their business-immigration needs including managing the paperwork required for hiring highly skilled workers, advising on the international transfer of personnel, leading their corporate compliance initiatives, and assisting employees in obtaining U.S. permanent residence and citizenship.
Mr. Wagreich’s clients include multinational corporations, hospitals, nonprofit arts institutions, universities, athletic organizations, and individual investors and entrepreneurs. Mr. Wagreich speaks frequently about immigration issues at universities and continuing legal education seminars.
Mr. Wagreich has had a number of leadership positions within the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the national association of immigration lawyers and professors. Mr. Wagreich is currently a member of AILA’s Department of Labor Liaison Committee. In 2011, 2014, and 2015, Mr. Wagreich received AILA President’s Commendations for his contributions to that organization, and in 2014 he was the recipient of the Chicago Chapter of AILA’s Joesph Minsky Beacon of Light award.
Mr. Wagreich has also been highly active in the American Immigration Council, which is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-for-profit educational, charitable organization whose mission is to strengthen America by honoring our immigrant history and shaping how immigrants think about and act towards immigration now and in the future, and has served on that organizations Board of Trustees, and as Chair of the Ambassador’s committee.
Ian Wagreich also chairs the Government Liaison Committee for the International Medical Graduate Taskforce, which is dedicated to improving the path that international medical graduates who have completed their training in the U.S. must follow in becoming legally authorized to providing desperately needed health care services in the U.S.
