Robert Black is an experienced, personable attorney, dedicated to his clients and the profession of law. His philosophy of practice is to broadly consider each client’s legal issues for how they may impact his or her overall well being. He formed his expertise as a member of the prestigious United States Air Force JAG Corps. As a JAG, Mr. Black was given rare levels of responsibility for a young attorney.
This includes being lead counsel for defendants at felony-level cases, including attempted murder, manslaughter, armed robbery, and sexual assault. Mr. Black rose through the ranks of the JAG Corps to be recognized as one of the Air Force’s elite defense litigators. In 2014, after eight years of service, Mr. Black was honorably discharged from active duty in the rank of Major. Mr. Black is now a part-time member of the Iowa Air National Guard.
Mr. Black is active in his community. He volunteers as a youth baseball coach and is a member of his parish council. He also serves as the Judge Advocate for the American Legion, Nebraska State Department. In this capacity he promotes the American Legion mission of mentoring youths, encouraging patriotism, promoting national security, and assisting military veterans.
Mr. Black practices in civilian and military courts. He is licensed to practice law in Nebraska and Iowa state courts, the Federal District Court of Nebraska, and in military courts.
