
Jack Daley is an associate in Baker Donelson’s Baltimore office. Mr. Daley’s practice focuses on admiralty and maritime litigation. A large part of Mr. Daley’s growing practice focuses on admiralty and maritime litigation.
Mr. Daley acts as the local correspondent for numerous P&I Clubs and provides 24/7 casualty response services on their behalf. He can often be found at the Port of Baltimore conducting investigations and working to resolve various obstacles inherent in the world of international shipping as well as providing pivotal on-site legal advice.
Mr. Daley’s admiralty and maritime practice allows him to spend a significant amount of time in both state and federal courts, which is instrumental in keeping him current on changes to the Maryland and federal civil and admiralty rules.
He is frequently confronted with complicated conflicts of law and choice of law issues, national and international arbitration clauses, forum selection and jurisdictional disputes.
He has achieved numerous dismissals on procedural grounds before the client is ever exposed to substantial discovery costs and fees associated with depositions, written discovery and document production.
Mr. Daley also handles construction and condominium disputes, financial institution and creditors’ rights matters, such as obtaining confessed judgments and working with banks to respond to writs of garnishment, levies and subpoenas. He is a member of the bar in both Maryland and the District of Columbia.
