Jacob Cherry is an immigration attorney in the Atlanta office. His practice is focused on employment-based immigration and worksite compliance matters. Jacob works with multinational organizations to secure immigration benefits for their employees and provide guidance on immigration-related compliance matters.
Jacob also counsels and advises employers on the implementation of immigration programs that align with specific hiring, employee retention, and global mobility goals, and he partners with companies to develop immigration strategies to address evolving adjudication standards at Citizenship & Immigration Services, the Department of State, the Department of Labor, and Customs & Border Protection.
Jacob is admitted to practice law in Maryland, and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He is a graduate of Emory University (B.A. in International Studies), and obtained his law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law.
He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. During law school, Jacob was a student attorney in the Immigration Clinic, in which he represented clients in asylum and removal defense matters.
Prior to joining Ogletree, Jacob was an attorney with a boutique immigration firm in Philadelphia, where he practiced employment-based immigration. He is also the author of various immigration-related publications.

Jacob has also advised and counseled clients in a wide range of worksite compliance issues, including I-9 and E-Verify matters, as well as investigations by the Department of Labor and the Office of Special Counsel for Immigration-Related Unfair Employment Practices.
