Jaime Dawn Topham grew up on the back of a horse, training and showing horses all over the United States. She began teaching riding lessons to others when she was 16 years old. Through training horses and teaching people, Jaime learned the importance of patience, communication, empathy, and determination to achieve a desired outcome. That experience gave her the skills she now uses to help clients get through the most difficult experiences of their life.
Jaime Topham’s passion for the law started at a young age, growing up watching her father, Gary Buhler, practice law out of the family home. Now, she carries on the tradition of zealously and passionately advocating for her clients.
In July of 2016, Jaime was recognized for her hard work and dedication representing family law clients by the National Academy for Family Law Attorneys, who awarded her the prestigious Top 10 Under 40 Attorney Award for the State of Utah.
In 2017, Jaime was recognized by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys as being one of the 10 Best Attorneys in Utah for exceptional and outstanding client service.
Jaime graduated from Grantsville High School in 1997. She completed her undergraduate work at Weber State University where she double majored in Political Science and Criminal Justice. Jaime obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah in 2007.
Jaime was admitted to the Utah State Bar in October 2007. She is a member of the Family Law Section and the Solo, Small Firm, Rural Practice Section of the Utah State Bar. Jaime is also a member of the Parental Defense Alliance of Utah, the Utah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
In January of 2016, Mayor Marshall of Grantsville City appointed Jaime to be a commissioner on the Grantsville City Planning and Zoning Commission. Jaime is now the chair of the Commission and is dedicated to the growth of Grantsville.
