James L. Barkin focuses on commercial real estate and commercial real estate finance. He has extensive experience representing various types of lending institutions in a broad range of financing transactions, including conduit lending, REIT financing, construction lending and mezzanine financing involving a broad range of commercial real estate assets such as shopping centers, office buildings and apartment projects.
A significant part of Mr. Barkin’s practice involves representing REMIC trusts in connection with loan assumptions and modifications. He is also active in representing financial institutions in connection with the resolution of problem credits including remedy enforcement, loan restructurings and loan sales.
Mr. Barkin also spends significant time representing individuals and institutions in connection with the acquisition, development, and disposition of various types of commercial properties and loans secured by commercial properties.
