In 1989, Attorney Wing left a partnership in a medium-sized law firm to establish this practice, where one attorney is responsible for each matter from start to finish.
Lawyers who prepare with the expectation that a case will settle put their clients at a disadvantage. Complete preparation assures the best presentation of evidence at trial and increases the likelihood that the opposition will agree to a favorable settlement to avoid trial.
It has become the standard of practice at the Law Offices of James C. Wing, Jr., to work hard to always be prepared.
With over 30 years experience, Attorney Wing has tried cases to verdict before administrative, court and jury panels in Connecticut’s state and federal courts. He has been admitted in other states Pro Hac Vice and been involved in matters in Massachusetts, Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York.
His experience includes advocating for clients at trials in civil and criminal courts and before administrative tribunals, arbitration panels and appellate courts. Attorney Wing has served as Guardian Ad Litem for minor children in Family Court proceedings and as a Family Special Master. Attorney Wing serves as a mediator in family and other disputes and participates in collaborative divorce proceedings.
He has taught college-level classes in family law at the University of Hartford/Hartford College for Women and presented seminars to lawyers, educators and psychologists on various topics including the Connecticut Child Support Guidelines, Disciplining Special Needs Children and he gave an address to the Annual Meeting of the Connecticut Psychological Association on “Bullying in the Public Schools.”
