James Fawcett

James T. Fawcett is a senior staff attorney in the firm’s WilmerHale Discovery Solutions  department, focused on substantive and strategic areas of discovery for Litigation Controversy matters. He joined the firm in 2006.

Mr. Fawcett focuses his practice on issues of e-discovery. Specifically, he works with other attorneys, litigation support coordinators, and paralegals in order to provide efficient and cost effective discovery in litigations and investigations.

Senior staff attorneys on these teams manage matters to create smarter document review processes through strategic and tactical work from preservation to collection and through review and production. In this role they utilize the firm’s internal review software as well as e-discovery vendors’ review and analytical tools.

Mr. Fawcett has direct experience with regulatory enforcement actions and securities class actions. He has represented various clients, including major investment banks and financial services companies, in issues related to IPO practices, options backdating, market timing and late trading.

Following law school, Mr. Fawcett was a litigation associate at Robinson Brog Leinwand Greene Genovese & Gluck P.C., where he worked on complex negligence and contract disputes, as well as the prosecution of a RICO claim involving extensive motion practice.

Mr. Fawcett participated in all aspects of the firm’s litigation practice including the researching and drafting of motions for state and federal court. Mr. Fawcett is a member of the New York City Bar Association.
