Jamie focuses his practice on providing innovative front-end project structuring, transactional documentation, and contentious dispute resolution to the owner, architect, engineering, and construction communities.
With his multidisciplinary background, extensive experience, and strong belief in realistic, resolution-oriented approaches to problem solving, Jamie provides sound and creative business strategies and solutions that meet the needs of his clients within the built environment. Jamie’s clients also benefit from his intermediary and business advisory services, including mergers and acquisitions.
Jamie’s 25 years of special focus on building enclosures is reflected in his creation of Schiff Hardin’s Curtain Wall Risk Management Program (CWRM), which was launched in 2014 to address the risks associated with innovative, high-performance façade systems.
Jamie continues to work in select areas of renewable energy projects, including the representation of the developer of the largest battery storage facility on the east coast, which is to be located in Manhattan, at 1 MW.
Jamie has been representing buyers and sellers of New York State Grandfathered Architectural and Grandfathered Engineering Corporations for 25 years. During that time he sourced both buyers and sellers having completed more than 20 such transactions.
The “Business of Law” section of the Financial Times’ “Innovative Lawyers” commended Jamie for his innovative use of “tools to resolve financing deadlocks in construction projects.” The Legal 500 praised Jamie for his “in-depth knowledge,” stating that he is “more than a lawyer, he is a trusted adviser.”
