
Mr. James Kaminer is senior counsel in the Real Estate Group of Seyfarth Shaw LLP; he has practiced commercial real estate law for more than 30 years. His practice includes most areas of commercial real estate with an emphasis on real estate finance, office leasing, and the structuring of real estate transactions. Mr. Kaminer also has significant experience in the enforcement of remedies and restructuring of debt in distressed real estate transactions.
As a corollary to his real estate practice, Mr. Kaminer has a longstanding interest in conservation and in sustainable development. He has been a member of and advisor to the Georgia chapter of The Nature Conservancy for over 20 years. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees and serves on its Conservation Committee.
Mr. Kaminer also served on the Board of Trustees of the Chattahoochee Hill Country Conservancy, one of the prime movers in the first large scale sustainable development effort in the State of Georgia. The Chattahoochee Hill Country Conservancy’s development plan included the institution and implementation of a transfer of development rights (“TDR”) program.
