James Hang Jiang is an associate in Mayer Brown’s New York office and a member of the Banking & Finance practice. James represents public and private clients in a wide range of complex financial transactions, including structured finance, leverage finance, insurance and other finance transactions.
James has experience in various structured finance transactions and has represented borrowers, issuers, sponsors, and commercial and investment banks in warehouse facilities, securitization offerings/CLOs, repos and other asset-backed transactions involving various assets, including commercial real estate mortgages, auto loans, consumer loans, corporate loans, other receivables and securities.
James also worked in a number of leverage finance transactions, especially acquisition finances. In particular, James represented banks as agents and lenders in connection with cross-border acquisitions.
James also has experience in insurance-related transactions, including representing issuers and underwriters catastrophe bond offerings and representing insurance companies and protection providers in reserve financing transactions.
In addition to finance transactions, James also represent Chinese companies and financial institutions in connection with various matters in the US, such as mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, private equity, real estate, and regulatory matters.
James is native in Chinese (mandarin) and earned an LLB degree from Peking (Beijing) University Law School and a JD degree from Georgetown University Law Center. James also has an LLM degree on securities and financial regulations from Georgetown.
