James W. Leighton is an associate in the firm’s financial restructuring practice. Mr. Leighton received his J.D. with honors from the University of Texas School of Law, where he served as a staff editor for the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties & Civil Rights. During law school, he was the recipient of the Dean’s Achievement Award for the study of Evidence and served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Susan G. Braden, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, where he received his B.S. with distinction in Political Science and Psychology.
Mr. Leighton was a member of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP’s 2016 summer associate class.
