With extensive experience in problem solving and machine design, James M. Hannon provides prosecution counseling and opinions for clients primarily in mechanical, electrical and software businesses.
Jim counsels clients in a variety of industries on a range of technologies, including lighting, wiring devices, aerospace, oil and gas, financial services, computer software, consumer product design and computer hardware.
Jim provides a full spectrum of services to meet his clients’ intellectual property needs, including counseling in regard to invalidity, non-infringement, freedom to operate and patentability, as well as providing patent portfolio planning and management.
Jim also handles IP evaluations for mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions, including conducting IP due diligence and drafting and negotiating contracts, assignments, licenses and IP-related sections of agreements.
Prior to his legal career, Jim was a plant engineer for a Fortune 500 food and chemical manufacturer. Jim is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.
