Jim McNamara has nineteen years of trial and appellate experience. A former law clerk for the Tennessee Court of Appeals, Jim most recently worked as a Senior Assistant Public Defender for the Nashville Metropolitan Public Defenders Office.
He also currently teaches as an adjunct Professor of trial Advocacy at Vanderbilt University Law School. He has tried more than twenty jury trials, hundreds of bench trials and has argued numerous cases in the appellate courts, including before the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Mr. McNamara is also deeply involved in giving back to the community. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Mental Health Cooperative and Special Education Advocacy Center for Tennessee. He volunteers to assist homeless veterans at Operation Stand Down.
Mr. McNamara obtained his J.D. and B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
