A board certified specialist in Social Security law, Attorney Shea handles cases at all levels from application to the Federal Court. He received a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from Loyola University in Los Angeles, and then went on to earn a Ph.D. in English Literature from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a Juris Doctorate from Loyola University School of Law in Los Angeles.
He has taught English Literature and Business Law at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Mr. Shea began practicing law in 1992, and for over twenty years has continued to represent the disabled, and also to share his skills with the community.
He has done much pro bono service on behalf of the Cancer Legal Resource Center (sponsored and operated through the auspices of Loyola Law School), having been once nominated by that organization for the California State Bar Association’s Pro Bono Service Award.
He has also served as the Chairperson of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Social Security Section. Mr. Shea is a Board Certified Social Security Disability Specialist, certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, a State Bar of California approved agency. He is one of only a very few attorneys in California to be board certified.
