He is admitted to practice before all of the state and federal courts in the state of Alabama. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Jim has co-authored the Alabama chapter of the American Bar Association’s Survey of State Class Action Law, which is published in the authoritative treatise Newberg on Class Actions, and he recently served on an Alabama Law Institute committee that drafted Alabama’s Right of Publicity Act.
Jim has considerable experience in the areas of libel and privacy. His volunteer work has included service on the Board of Visitors for the School of Communication of the University of Alabama, as well as participation in the projects of organizations dedicated to the protection of First Amendment rights.
