Jamie Evan Silverstein

Seasoned criminal defense attorney James E. Silverstein has been a Los Angeles-based Criminal Defense Attorney his entire career. His practice is geared solely towards the representation of people who are being investigated for, or charged with crimes, whether in State or Federal Court.

Attorney Silverstein’s calendar is among the busiest in Los Angeles County. On any given day, he and his staff travel throughout the county appearing in a dozen or more courthouses. He also appears in neighboring counties and states. Attorney Silverstein is very passionate about protecting his clients and their rights.

James E. Silverstein has spent his career representing people from all walks of life, both high-profile and low-profile. Mr. Silverstein has represented numerous police officers and their family members, medical doctors, and even fellow attorneys who have been accused of crimes.

Attorney James E. Silverstein was born in Beverly Hills, California, and has lived in the Los Angeles area for almost 40 years. His mission is to help people in need; those who feel oppressed and powerless because of the powerful and long reach of the government. Mr. Silverstein has a particular affinity for helping juveniles and young adults turn their lives around.

James E. Silverstein was a Dean’s List student at California State University, Northridge, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies and a Minor in Political Science.

James E. Silverstein took every relevant legal course available in college to gear him up for the battle of practicing law. James E. Silverstein also served as the Vice President of the CSUN Pre-law Society.

While in Law School, James E. Silverstein was a Judicial Law Clerk for a respected Judge in the Los Angeles Superior Court in Van Nuys. During this time, Mr. Silverstein gained years of valuable insight about how to be successful in the courtroom; he observed “the good, the bad, and the ugly” of legal representation. This insight has served him well in representing his own clients.

Today, James E. Silverstein represents clients at all stages of State and Federal criminal proceedings, including trials, preliminary hearings, contested motions, post-conviction relief, and appeals.

Mr. Silverstein oversees all legal research and motion preparation. His attention to detail and ability to communicate well with others aids him in achieving positive results for his clients. James E. Silverstein is active in the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the San Fernando Valley Bar Association.
