Jared A. Bomberg is an associate in the eCommerce, Privacy, and Cybersecurity Group in Washington, DC, where his practice focuses on privacy and data security counseling related to the introduction of new technology, including Internet of Things devices, implementing Big Data tools, workplace monitoring, and facilitating global data transfers.
With a particular focus on Internet-enabled devices and products, Jared has tackled emerging privacy issues related to drones, connected cars, student data privacy, and mobile apps.
Jared also has extensive experience with advising on transactional and corporate matters involving personal data, conducting privacy risk assessments, and risk mitigation counseling related to data breach incidents, cybersecurity, and record retention.
Jared previously worked in the United States Senate, including as counsel to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. In this capacity, he advised members of Congress on a variety of e-commerce and product safety matters.
Jared drafted and negotiated numerous bills, led the development of dozens of congressional hearings, and advised on committee investigations. Jared’s practice also entails a strong commitment to pro bono clients, including applications for asylum and disability benefits, and efforts to protect online reputation.
