Jefferson M Simmons is an experienced attorney specializing in criminal law. He is a partner at the law firm Rowley, Long and Simmons PLLC also known as Valley of the Sun Law and based in Scottsdale, Arizona. He majorly focuses on criminal defense, DUI, Drug Offenses, Victim Advocacy, Sex Crimes, Manslaughter, and Juvenile Law.

He has received certification as a Criminal Law Specialist from the Arizona State Bar in the year 2015. He is one of the few attorneys to obtain this prestigious recognition within the first decade of his law practice.

He served as a Deputy County Attorney at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for nearly seven years from 2006 to 2013 and focussed on prosecuting different types of misdemeanors and felony criminal cases including assault and drug cases.

He led several kidnapping and home invasion cases of the government that occurred in the greater Phoenix area while working with the Phoenix H.I.K.E unit. Recognizing his trial advocacy and efforts to help victims of violent crimes, the Robbery Division of Phoenix Police Department granted him a Certificate of Recognition for Litigation in 2011.

He also received Special Recognition in different years from the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for areas such as Drophouse Litigation, Kidnapping Litigation, Attempted Murder, and Home Invasion Litigation.

He has obtained memberships of professional associations such as the Criminal Law Section of the American Association for Justice and the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Arizona. He also serves as an Attorney Member of National College of DUI Defense since 2014.

Jefferson Simmons secured the license to practice law in the state of Arizona in 2006 after obtaining his Law Degree from the Syracuse University College of Law in the same year.

While studying law, he also served as a Summer Associate at the law firm of Metz Lewis during 2004 – 2005. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the Westminster College in 2003.
