Jeffrey C. Anderson is originally from Medina, Texas, where he graduated third in his high school class in 1964. In 1968, he graduated from Southwest Texas State College with a degree in biology. After college, he entered the Army where he served as Commanding Officer of a medic training company at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. After completing his military service, he entered St. Mary’s University School of Law, and graduated in 1974.
He served two years as a briefing attorney for U.S. District Judge D.W. Suttle before becoming a member and partner of Southers & Lyons, Inc. In 1994, he opened his own law firm as a solo practitioner.
In addition to the Texas State Courts, Mr. Anderson is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Claims, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th and 11th Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for the Western and Southern Districts.
He was board certified in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 1981, and certified as a civil trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in 1987. He is a sustaining member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association, the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association, the College of The State Bar of Texas, the American Board of Trial Advocates, and the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. He is also a life fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the San Antonio Bar Foundation.
Mr. Anderson has been a member of the San Antonio Bar Association since 1976. He is currently serving as Chairman of the Medical/Legal Liaison Committee, where he has been a committee member for over ten years.
Mr. Anderson has authored numerous publications for CLE programs in Texas, and has frequently lectured on personal injury trial law. In 1996, Mr. Anderson was elected Chairman of the Alamo Public Telecommunications Counsel, the governing board of KLRN-TV9. He is the past president of the Community Advisory Board of KLRN, and has been active with the station for over thirty years.
Mr. Anderson’s daughter graduated from St. Mary’s Law School, practiced with the firm of Howie & Sweeney in Dallas, Texas, and is currently handling some case in the Dallas area while raising two kids.
