A Florida native, Jeffrey C. Blumenauer grew up just west of Orlando in the city of Clermont. After graduating from South Lake High School in Groveland, Florida, Mr. Blumenauer attended The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina on an academic scholarship, where he was a graduate of The Citadel Honors Program, with academic Honors.
Upon graduation, he decided to return to Central Florida, accepting a merit scholarship to attend Florida’s prestigious Stetson University College of Law, Florida’s first law school.
After graduating law school, Mr. Blumenauer answered the call to serve his country, direct commissioning as a reservist into the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. He is a graduate of The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School, having been named to the Commandant’s List, and has also completed the United States Army Judge Advocate Staff Officers Course.
Mr. Blumenauer is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom in which he deployed with the Third Infantry Division from January through June 2013 on a Rule of Law mission to Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan where he was assigned to the joint-multinational force Combined Team Uruzgan.
In Afghanistan, Mr. Blumenauer advised coalition commanders and directly mentored Afghan leaders to help increase the capabilities of the Afghan government and its legal system. For his meritorious service and outstanding dedication to duty while serving in Afghanistan, Mr. Blumenauer received the Bronze Star Medal.
Mr. Blumenauer is also a recipient of the Army Service Ribbon, the Nation Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device, the Army Acheivement Medal with two oak-leaf clusters, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Afghanistan Service Medal with Campaign Star, the Army Reserve Components Acheivement Medal, the Reserve Overseas Training Ribbon, and the NATO Medal with International Security Assistance Force (ISAP) clasp.
Mr. Blumenauer is a Captain currently serving in the U.S. Army Reserve as an Army Defense Counsel with the 154th Legal Operations Detachment (TDS), where Mr. Blumenauer defends servicemembers accused of alleged misconduct and violations of the UCMJ. Also while with the 154th LOD, Mr. Blumenauer has previously served as an acting Senior Defense Counsel and as an Assistant Operations Officer (S-3).
In addition to practicing law, Mr. Blumenauer is involved in the day-to-day management and operations of The Blumenauer Corporation, a third-generation manufacturers’ representative firm that focuses on water pumping, heating and boiler technologies developed by leading manufacturers for use in residential, commercial and industrial applications throughout the state of Florida and the Caribbean.
