Jeff Wahl is a partner in the firm’s Global Corporate Practice. Jeff’s practice focuses on M&A, joint ventures, sophisticated supply chain contracts and general corporate and business matters.
Jeff prides himself on client service and being a practical, business-focused advisor and problem-solver who partners with clients in a counsel role. Jeff’s broad corporate experience extends beyond strategic M&A transactions to board matters, employment agreements, financings, commercial dispute management and most challenges facing business clients.
Jeff has particular experience with manufacturing, mining, waste disposal, infrastructure and other industrial sectors, distribution in the US and internationally and representation of clients in all manner of supply chain and commercial arrangements, including distributor/sales agent contracts, manufacturing/supply arrangements and intellectual property licensing, as well as development of standardized legal terms and conditions for commercial purchasers and vendors in a variety of industries.
Jeff’s practice includes a very significant international component. He has represented clients in corporate and commercial matters in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Finland, France, Germany, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Korea, Mexico, Norway, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan and the UK. He also combines his M&A and commercial expertise with his international practice to support non-US companies establishing operations or distribution networks in the US.
Jeff is a frequent speaker on international distribution and authored the International Distribution Contracts chapter for the Understanding International Commercial Contracts edition of the Inside the Minds book series (Aspatore 2015).
Closer to home, Jeff is a recognized authority on Ohio’s laws governing corporations, limited liability companies and other business entities. In 2014, he was the only practicing attorney invited to present to approximately 100 Ohio judges and magistrates on the topic of “Business Entities and their Liabilities” at the Ohio Supreme Court’s Judicial College training program for judges.
Additionally, Jeff is heavily involved in any proposed or pending legislative changes to Ohio’s business entity laws. He serves as the Chairman of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Corporation Law Committee, which is the primary drafting committee for all state bar association-sponsored legislation in Ohio concerning corporations, limited liability companies and other business entities.
In addition to his work with the Ohio State Bar Association, Jeff is a member of the Columbus Bar Association, and he is an active attorney volunteer at the Vineyard Community Center Legal Clinic.
