Jeffrey Royer is an accomplished, results-oriented attorney with extensive in-house patient care litigation management and broad private practice experience in tort and health care civil and administrative litigation. He has exceptional negotiation and leadership skills resulting in the development and implementation of successful legal and business process initiatives.
Before joining Peter M. Feaman, P.A. Jeff was Associate General Counsel- Litigation for HCR ManorCare¹ from 2005 to 2011. Jeff had overall responsibility for patient care litigation management in 32 states, including the selection and supervision of outsidecounsel, oversight of the company’s arbitration agreement program, and legal department review of clinical services policy and procedure manuals and updates.
From 2003 to 2005, he served as the Assistant General Counsel supervising patient care litigation in selected states at HCR ManorCare.
Prior to joining HCR ManorCare, Jeff was a partner with Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLPfrom 1988 to 2003. Jeff focused his practice on health care administrative and civil litigation as well as healthcare facility and provider representation in regulatory and related matters.
He acted as counsel to, and advised hospital CEOs, Boards of Trustees, and Administrations on a variety of health law and litigation issues as well as representing hospitals in federal (Medicare) and state (Medicaid) administrative litigation.
He represented nursing homes, hospitals, and physicians in medical malpractice cases, engaged in contract negotiations, including joint venture formation and affiliation relationships with third parties.
He has spoken nationally on a variety of medico-legal topics and was a national faculty member for Medical Management Development Associates.
