Jeffrey (Jeff) Sanford assists clients in a variety of complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal court. His work has included contract disputes, class action defense, unfair competition, internal and government investigations, and corporate compliance. Jeff is experienced in all aspects of litigation, including motion practice, fact and expert discovery, taking and defending depositions, trial work, and appeals.
Before joining the firm, Jeff gained valuable experience externing for Chief Judge David Herndon of the US District Court for the Southern District of Illinois and as an associate at a large national law firm. He also has considerable writing and editing experience, previously serving as a senior editor at The Michigan Daily and interning for the Detroit Red Wings in its Media and Publications Department.
He authored The Constitutional Hall Pass: Rethinking the Gap in § 1983 Liability that Public Schools have Enjoyed Since DeShaney, 91 Wash. L. Rev. 1633 (2014).
