
Jennifer Bombard McGovern is an attorney in the Labor & Employment Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s Boston office. Ms. McGovern has experience representing and advising private and public sector employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, primarily in the field of employment discrimination and harassment and administrative matters. She has represented clients before Massachusetts state and federal courts, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, as well as numerous other state and local agencies.
Ms. McGovern has also advised employers on compliance and litigation avoidance in matters involving employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation, wrongful discharge, separation and severance agreements, non-competition and trade secret litigation, employee investigations and discipline, leaves of absence and disability accommodation, workplace privacy and data security, and wage and hour issues.
Ms. McGovern has particular experience representing employers in the health care, retail and hospitality industries. Prior to joining Seyfarth, Ms. McGovern was a member of client-dedicated service teams for a national law firm and specialized in handling administrative agency charges.
In this capacity, she investigated charge allegations, provided clients with an assessment of the risks associated with each charge, defended charges by drafting persuasive position statements and engaged in strategic settlement discussions, either through formal mediation or informal discussions with mediators, investigators or counsel.
Where appropriate, she prepared witnesses for fact finding conferences and represented clients during on-site agency investigations. Previously, Ms. McGovern practiced labor and employment law with firms in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
