She can draft your wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and directives to physicians. Likewise, if you are dealing with the death of a loved one, she can help you determine the best path forward for distributing his or her property.
Jennifer has drafted numerous winning briefs, motions, and responses to various Texas Courts of Appeals as well as Petitions for Review and responses to the Texas Supreme Court. She has practiced before multiple Texas appellate courts and the Texas Supreme Court.
In her appellate practice, Jennifer has represented clients with an array of interests, including but not limited to business, family, and probate. She has successfully represented appellate clients based on substantive issues, such as the rare situation when an appellate court affirmed the rejection of a will that was procured by undue influence, business contract interpretation, issues of capacity in executing estate planning documents, and determining property tax valuation methods, among others. She has also successfully represented clients when the issue before the appellate court is one of legal procedure.
Jennifer also maintains an employment law practice. She drafts and reviews employee handbooks, employment agreements, and non-competition agreements. She has also represented both employers and employees in front of administrative panels such as the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Texas Workforce Commission.
Jennifer graduated magna cum laude from the Texas Tech School of Law where she served as the Vice Chair of Mock Trial for the Board of Barristers. Before attending law school, Jennifer had the unique experience of working for several years as a human resources generalist who specialized in employee relations for a large hospital and healthcare system in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico.
