I am committed to representing clients in Northern Virginia, including Vienna and Alexandria, as well as throughout Prince William, Fairfax, Loudoun and Arlington counties. I focus my practice on domestic relations law, handling litigation and trial cases involving the following matters: divorce, mediation, property distribution, relocation, international child custody, life insurance, military divorce, business valuations, family tax issues, alimony and spousal support, domestic violence, protective orders, post-divorce issues and wealth management.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science in social work from Arizona State University in 1994, I went on to earn a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1998. In 2005, I earned a Juris Doctor from New York Law School. During my time as a law student, Ms. Babounakis served as an associate editor for the school’s law review and graduated at the top of my class with honors.
I have more than 11 years of experience representing a variety of clients, including spouses in sensitive family law cases and businesses in complex corporate law cases. Prior to joining The Roop Law Firm, PLLC, I practiced corporate law with an internationally renowned corporate law firm. As a former social worker and a parent of two children, I have unique insight into the challenges that family law issues create for everyone involved.
Complementing my experience in family law, my corporate law experience gives my clients advantages in the context of challenging financial issues, such as estate division and support.
