Jennifer Parnell

Jennifer Kinney Parnell is a Partner practicing in the area of business litigation and provides counsel on a wide range of matters including contract claims, insurance claims, and mortgage and lending litigation.

Jennifer has engaged in significant motion practice in both state and federal courts on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants, securing results for clients in connection with procedural and dispositive motions. She also has experience acting as general counsel to a regional insurance company.

Representative Experience:

• Representation of regional wholesale sign, screen printing and construction goods supplier in litigation asbestos-related product liability claims, securing dismissal for client by way of settlement
• Multiple representations of national bank in mortgage litigation involving allegations of erroneous credit reporting, violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Texas Debt Collection Act, Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Truth in Lending Act and an array of other state and federal statutes’Representation of regional bank in post-foreclosure deficiency action securing an award for client by way of summary judgment
• Representation of national insurance company in litigation involving bad faith claim for failure to pay life insurance proceeds, securing dismissal for client by way of summary judgment
• Multiple representations of national mortgage and mortgage servicing firms in state and federal court litigation brought by consumer plaintiffs, securing settlement for the client or prevailing by way of dispositive or procedural motion practice
• Representation of national eye care products manufacturer in litigation involving alleged use of company computers and involving substantive disputes over scope and process of electronic discovery, securing dismissal of the client from the lawsuit
• Representation of regional bank in post-foreclosure dispute involving loan participation agreement, including dispositive motion practice, securing a settlement for the client
