Jennifer J. Walt regularly counsels employers on employment policies, employee handbooks and individual employment agreements. She has particular expertise in the areas of :Wrongful termination, Employment discrimination and harassment litigation.
She appears in California state and federal courts, before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the Labor Commissioner, and the Employment Development Department, as well as in private arbitration and mediation.
Her work on behalf of employers also includes unfair labor practice claims and union organizing drives before the National Labor Relations Board. She has specific knowledge of claims involving :
- The Americans with Disabilities Act
- The Family and Medical Leave Act
- The Fair Employment and Housing Act
- The Unemployment Insurance Code
Jennifer is Littler Mendelson’s associate general counsel. She also serves on the Associates Committee and the Hiring Committee. Jennifer was a staff attorney for the Tenth Circuit in Denver from 1982 to 1983. She also worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable James E. Barrett, Judge of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals from 1981 to 1982.
She also served as an intern for the Honorable Paul N. McCloskey, Jr., U. S. House of Representatives and for the Honorable Allison M. Rouse, California Court of Appeals.
