Jenny Abshier grew up in St. Bernard Parish, right outside of New Orleans. She attended Andrew Jackson High School in Chalmette and earned the title of Junior Miss St. Bernard in 1999. She attended Our Lady of Holy Cross College to earn her Bachelor’s degree in English Writing and Fine Arts before attending Loyola University College of Law to earn her juris doctor.
Ms. Abshier divides her Big Easy Law office time with The Pro Bono Project of New Orleans, where she works as a staff attorney, assisting the underserved members of our communities.
Ms. Abshier has been honored to receive a 2012 Distinguished Service Award from the Pro Bono Project of New Orleans, as well as a 2013 Pro Bono Publico Award from the Louisiana State Bar Association. Both of these awards hang proudly in her office in recognition of her dedication to pro bono services.
Ms. Abshier is proud to be a lawyer and truly enjoys helping others navigate the legal world. She’s been praised for her compassion and understanding, as well as her non-judgmental attitude. Past clients have described her assistance in filing for bankruptcy as life-changing.
Ms. Abshier is admitted to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, and all Louisiana state courts. he is an active member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA). She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Jefferson Bar. s. Abshier is also a member of the Leadership Jefferson Class of 2012.
