Jenny H. Hong is of counsel in the Los Angeles office of Munger, Tolles & Olson. Ms. Hong began working at the firm in 2009 and her practice has focused on complex civil litigation, with an emphasis on finance-related litigation.

In 2013, Ms. Hong spent a year seconded to Bank of America’s litigation department. At Bank of America, she managed complex financial litigation involving mortgage-backed securities, including high profile breach of contract litigation and investor class actions. Ms. Hong represented Bank of America and its affiliates in settlement negotiations. She provided strategic guidance and counsel to senior management, finance, compliance and risk partners regarding litigation and regulatory risks.

From 2015 to 2017, Ms. Hong was corporate counsel at Honda North America. While at Honda, Ms. Hong provided strategic advice and counseling on sales, marketing, privacy and other issues, negotiated a variety of contracts on behalf of Honda, and supported senior business executives on corporate governance matters.

Ms. Hong’s legal experience also includes an internship at the United Nations International Law Commission in 2004. She served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Pierre N. Leval of the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit from 2006 to 2007.

Ms. Hong graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a joint degree in economics and East Asian Studies. Ms. Hong received her law degree from New York University School of Law, where she graduated second in her class. While in law school, Ms. Hong was a managing editor for the New York University Law Review.

Ms. Hong is on the board of directors of the Peninsula Friends of the Library. In 2017, she was a member of the board of library trustees for the Palos Verdes Library District. She served on the board of directors of the Diablo Valley Montessori School from 2013 to 2014.
