Jeremy A. Cohen is a partner in the Commercial Litigation Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s New York office. Mr. Cohen is an experienced and versatile lawyer, who litigates high stakes commercial matters, real estate disputes, and trade secrets and false advertising cases. He also provides general counseling to the firm’s co-op and condominium clients.
In commercial matters, Mr. Cohen regularly appears in federal court and the Commercial Division of the New York Supreme Court, where he handles all manner of business disputes, including actions arising out of cross-border M&A deals, employment disputes, and the representation of pharmaceutical, medical device, consumer products, and apparel corporations in false advertising and trade secrets actions.
He also represents securities industry clients in FINRA arbitrations, and has assisted clients with regulatory and internal investigations. Mr. Cohen also has represented high-profile individuals and entities in the sports and entertainment field, including musicians, athletes and teams in a wide range of litigation and arbitration.
Mr. Cohen has more than a decade of experience litigating real estate matters, and has represented some of New York’s leading property owners and developers in state and federal litigation involving cooperatives and condominiums, mixed residential and commercial developments, hotels, marinas, sports arenas, and real estate investment funds. Mr. Cohen has served on the Judicial Screening Panel for the First District, which considers applicants for judgeships on the New York County Civil Court.
Since 2001, Mr. Cohen has been a member of the Advisory Board of Legal Outreach, Inc., a non-profit organization that prepares high school students from underserved communities in New York City to compete at high academic levels by using intense legal and educational programs as tools for facilitating the pursuit of higher education.
