Attorney Smith works on a range of immigration matters in Atlanta and north Georgia, including applications for citizenship, legal permanent resident status (green cards), family visas, provisional unlawful presence waivers, U Nonimmigrant Status (U-Visa), VAWA, and deportation (removal) defense. He enjoys working in immigration law and in serving the future citizens, shapers, and leaders of this wonderful country.
Even before law school, Attorney Smith had a strong interest in learning about immigration issues, largely due to his background of being born in Mexico and living there during many of his most formative years. In college, he wrote his senior thesis on immigration, concluding from his investigation of current immigration issues as well as from the history of immigration that one of the best things the United States has going for its future is the willingness of thousands of people every year To leave everything behind in order to seek a new life and a better future in this country for themselves and for their children.
During law school, in addition to studying immigration law and procedure, Attorney Smith interned with an immigration attorney, working primarily on U-Visa applications for immigrant victims of crimes.
Attorney Jeremy Smith attended the Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia, graduating with a degree in May of 2014. He had the privilege of serving as a senior editor on the Regent University Law Review and of having his article published, addressing the issue of student free speech in recent federal case law.
I was also honored to be a part of the Alliance Defending Freedom’s Blackstone Legal Fellowship where I have learned about issues in the law affecting the sanctity of life, religious freedom, and marriage and family.
Before law school, Attorney Smith majored in Government at Patrick Henry College, graduating magna cum laude in 2010.
