Attorney Donnelly received his B.S. from St. Bonaventure University in 1997 and his M.Ed. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2001. He received his law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2005. While at UConn, he was lead articles editor of the Connecticut Insurance Law Journal, a member of the Moot Court Board, and an instructor in the school’s research and writing program.
He was also a member of the School of Law’s Criminal Appellate Clinic where he represented indigent clients in state appellate courts. He received the CALI Excellence Award in criminal law in 2003. In May, 2011, Attorney Donnelly was named an adjunct professor at UConn Law School.
Attorney Donnelly is well known in Connecticut courtrooms, and has represented hundreds of individuals charged with offenses ranging from simple motor vehicle matters to murder. While most criminal and civil matters resolve by settlement, Attorney Donnelly has tried a number of cases successfully to juries. He also has argued cases before the Connecticut Appellate and Supreme Courts.
Attorney Donnelly is an active member of the Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association. One hundred percent of his practice is devoted to trial and appellate practice in both state and federal courts.
