Jerome Mark Reinan is an experienced attorney focusing on practice areas such as medical malpractice, defamation, nursing home abuse & neglect, and healthcare consumer protection. He is the President of the Law Offices of J.M. Reinan based in Denver, Colorado.
He serves as the Faculty at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and teaches young lawyers to hone their trial skills since 2016. He has obtained the membership of Nebraska State Bar Association, National Citizens Coalition for Nursing Home Reform, Colorado Bar Association, Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, Colorado Elder Law Society, and American Association for Justice.
Attorney Reinan started his law firm in Colorado in 1999 to help people, who have faced neglect, serious injuries, and death due to medical malpractice and nursing home abuse. He aims to fight for the rights of healthcare consumers.
His previous experience of working for big insurance companies helps him better serve his clients as a Colorado nursing home abuse and neglect lawyer and help them negotiate their legal and psychological problems after suffering injuries due to other people’s fault.
Before founding his law firm, he was a partner in a Denver medical malpractice defense firm that primarily represented doctors, nurses, hospitals, nursing homes and their insurance companies in malpractice lawsuits. In 1999, he decided that he belonged on the other side of that equation, and wanted to work with and help people, not work against them.
His trial experience in civil litigation benefits his clients as when the opposing attorney and insurance company know and understand that the claimant’s lawyer is willing and capable of taking the case to trial and potentially returning a substantial verdict, they are more likely to offer a reasonable settlement.
Jerome M. Reinan has earned the civil trial record of representing plaintiffs and obtaining six and seven-figure verdicts. The legal community has recognized his background and experience in both trial work and nursing home negligence.
He has made presentations on nursing home neglect and abuse at several bar associations on request and has authored the chapter on nursing home abuse & neglect for the Colorado Elder Law Bar for many years.
In addition to his trial work, he enjoys working with older and disabled clients who are usually underserved by the legal community.
He obtained his Bachelor’s of Science from the North Dakota State University in Fargo in 1987. He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver and graduated with honors in 1992. While studying law, he became Barrister’s Cup Champion in Moot Court in 1992, and the Albert Zinn Scholar, and won the Order of St. Ives.
He obtained the license to practice law in the states of Colorado and Minnesota as well as the U.S. District Court of Colorado, and the U.S. Court of Appeals in 1992. He also secured bar admission in the state of Nebraska in the year 1995.
Jerome Reinan received the Lawyers of Distinction Award in 2016. The Colorado Trial Lawyers Association named him Runner Up for the Case of the Year Award in 2007.
