Jim Egan is a partner in the Washington, DC office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where he focuses on antitrust counseling and litigation, with particular emphasis on class actions. He represents corporate clients in a wide range of industrial sectors and has acted as lead counsel in federal, state and administrative litigation involving price fixing, mergers, joint ventures, boycotts, and other horizontal and vertical restraints.
From 1990 to 1994 Mr. Egan served as director of litigation for the Bureau of Competition of the Federal Trade Commission. Prior to being named director of litigation, Mr. Egan held various Federal Trade Commission positions including assistant director for mergers & joint ventures and assistant director for general litigation.
From 1966 to 1969 Mr. Egan served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
