She is a former member of the Greater Casa Grande Chamber of Commerce, Arizona Women Lawyers Association, Pinal County Bar Association, Maricopa Chamber of Commerce, San Tan Valley Chamber of Commerce, East Valley Bar Association, and the Association of Family and Conciliation Court.
She has served as a Board Member for an association called Death Penalty Alternatives of Arizona from 2013 to 2015. She is the past Chairperson and Executive Council member of the Animal Law Section of the State Bar of Arizona.
She has also worked as a Mediator in Maricopa County Justice Courts in 2018 and is an Active Attorney Member of the State Bar of Arizona since 2006. She has served as a volunteer from 2008 to 2015 for Valley Humane Society, a non-profit animal rescue organization in Pinal County.
Joan Bundy started her legal career as an Assistant Prosecutor for Tohono O’odham Nation in Sells, Arizona in the year 2005 and served there till 2008. During the 2008-2009 period, she served as Prosecutor II for Gila River Indian Community in Sacaton, Arizona.
She became passionate about divorce and family law while practicing as a prosecutor and helping several victims of domestic violence get justice. She realized that high-conflict litigation among parties to divorce only leaves them with lasting scars.
Attorney Bundy understood that the legal system could act as a positive force to help families move forward in life by escaping abusive situations, but the judicial system’s adversarial nature could sometimes stand in the way of obtaining a positive outcome.
Hence, she founded her Divorce and family law firm Joan Bundy Law in 2009. She adopts the cooperation approach to bring faster, efficient, happier, and longer-lasting outcomes to benefit her clients and their families. She assertively advocates for the best interests of her clients if the other party or opposing counsel are uncooperative.
Using her years of experience in family law, she recommends the best-suited strategy for the unique circumstances of her clients. She advocates alternative dispute resolution or mediation over going to court if both parties to the case agree to work together to resolve their issues.
She completed her Bachelors of Arts in journalism, mass communication & music from the Iowa State University in 1991. Before studying law, she worked as a journalist and public relations professional and sharpened her communication skills.
Joan Bundy attended the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona and earned her Juris Doctorate in the year 2005. While studying there, she served as the President of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund Chapter and also participated in the Animal Law Moot Court Competition.
Her years of service to animal law and love for animals has earned her the recognition of being a national expert on animal law issues.
