Joaquin M. C de Baca is an associate in the Restructuring, Bankruptcy & Insolvency practice. His practice includes both transactional and litigation work in the context of in-court and out-of-court workout and reorganization proceedings.
He has represented a variety of commercial banks, agent banks and lending syndicates, real estate investment and holding companies, insurance companies, investment fund managers and individual directors and officers.
Joaquin has represented clients in complex bankruptcy proceedings and restructuring transactions, including with respect to Lehman Brothers Holdings, Inc. and its affiliated debtors, Coudert Brothers, PMI Group Inc., Parking Company of America and Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC (and various related feeder funds).
Joaquin has also recently represented a major financial institution, as administrative agent on behalf of four overlapping lending syndicates, in connection with the out-of-court restructuring of a series of project finance loans across the US.
Joaquin joined Mayer Brown in 2009. New York Super Lawyers recognized Joaquin as a 2018 Rising Star in Bankruptcy.
