Jody Leake

When asked why he became an attorney, Jody D. Leake will tell you this: John Adams once said, “A government of laws, and not of men.” Jody has always been fascinated by the ultimate determination of guilt and/or liability as these laws are applied to any given situation. He has worked tirelessly over the years on behalf of his clients to establish himself as the go-to personal injury attorney in Killeen.

Prior to joining The Carlson Law Firm, Jody worked for a personal injury law firm in Austin. Additionally, he has experience as a civil defense attorney for the City of Corpus Christi. Jody is licensed to practice in Texas State Courts and focuses his attention on car accidents, work injury, dog bites and premise liability cases.

Jody earned his Juris Doctor from the St. Mary’s School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication at St. Edward’s University.

As an attorney, Jody believes that it is his duty to explain the legal system, potential options and possible consequences of decisions to his clients. He recognizes that each client is unique and retains his services because they are in the midst of distressing situations. He prides himself on professionally and courteously addressing his clients’ needs. But above all else, his clients appreciate his honesty and dedication to their cases.

He is a member of the Texas Bar Association. He is also a co-author of the Texas Supreme Court Brief. He has been awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon and Army Service Ribbon.

Jody believes attorneys have an important role in society. He states, “Law is the ever-present undercurrent that adjudges the actions of all who are subject to them. We are a free country because of these laws. We revoke individual freedom because of these laws. We walk around with unseen ‘rights’ attached to us and afforded us by the U.S. Constitution simply because we are U.S. Citizens. I want to be active in how laws are applied, developed, interpreted and understood. What better way than to become an attorney.”
