John Willis was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, October 17, 1958 and has lived in Orlando, Florida since 1982. He is married and has three children.
After graduating with a bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado in 1982, Mr. Willis was admitted to the Stetson University School of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was awarded the doctor of jurisprudence and was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1985.
Mr. Willis began the practice of law in 1985 in Orange/Osceola County as Assistant State Attorney. In 1987 he began practicing with an emphasis in insurance defense litigation representing primarily medical negligence insurance companies and was a shareholder and name partner.
In 1996 he began representing injured victims and their families exclusively, with an emphasis in medical malpractice litigation. Mr. Willis then founded his current law firm of John C. Willis, P.A. in 2007.
He now practices with an emphasis in all cases of serious personal injury and wrongful death. Mr. Willis has substantial experience handling medical malpractice litigation.
Mr. Willis is admitted to practice in all state courts in Florida and to the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He has tried numerous civil jury cases to verdict and has also handled several appeals to the various Florida District Courts of Appeal.
