John Charles Bell has been serving the community for the past fourty-three years, working with diverse youth and young adults in a variety of sports as an instructor, coach, commissioner, and tournament director for baseball, volleyball, & basketball.
Mr. Bell has enjoyed serving with Greater Birmingham Habitat for Humanity; First Light Women’s Shelter; Boy Scouts of America;Arthritis Foundation; National Multiple Sclerosis Society (Alabama/Mississippi Chapter); Birmingham Bear cats AAU Basketball program (Co-Founder); Central Park Christian School; Forest dale Presbyterian Church; First Presbyterian Church; South Highlands Presbyterian Church; and HICA!, among others.
Mr. Bell attended Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, B.S. School of Arts & Science in 1978; Vanderbilt Divinity School, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, M. Div. in 1982; and also attended Cumberland School of Law, Stamford University, Birmingham, Alabama, J.D. in 1991. He served in the federal sector at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Alabama from 1992-2013 and later founded The Law Office of John Charles Bell, L.L.C. in June of 2014.
Mr. Bell has been an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) since 1982 and continues his ministry in his everyday life. Mr. Bell has lead many workshops in seminars in various areas, mainly involving issues in leadership, youth, and immigration.
