John F. Hurley is chief operating officer of Foley & Lardner LLP, where he is responsible for developing and implementing the firm’s strategic growth plan, including establishing lawyer teams to develop new business opportunities with existing and potential clients, implementing client retention and growth strategies, and identifying and facilitating cross-selling opportunities between practices and industry teams.
Mr. Hurley brings more than 25 years of business development, marketing and operations experience in the legal, management consulting and e-commerce industries. Prior to joining Foley, he was chief business development officer at global corporate law firm DLA Piper, where he developed and drove strategies focused on client retention and growth.
At DLA Piper, he previously served as head of the firm’s early-stage venture capital program, advising more than 1,000 emerging growth technology companies on market development, strategic partnerships and financing issues.
Mr. Hurley was founder and president of LMR Company, a management consulting firm that provided a broad range of high-impact business development and marketing solutions for technology, service sector and venture capital clients.
